Community notes

  • activitiesMSW3/10/2025, 3:45:00 PM

Gloria expressed interest in joining the community's walking club after seeing the flyer in the lobby. She mentioned she walked regularly before moving in and wants to maintain that routine. Connected her with the activities coordinator who added her to the Wednesday morning group. Gloria also asked about volunteer opportunities, specifically whether she could assist with the greeting committee for future new residents. Passed her request along to the activities director — her warm personality would be a wonderful asset to that role.

Gloria attended her third community event — Tuesday afternoon bridge group. Staff observed her laughing and chatting with two other residents, Margaret and Dolores. She introduced herself to several newcomers at the table, which speaks well to her social confidence. She mentioned to this writer that she was initially nervous about moving but now feels the decision was the right one. Family communication log notes her son visited over the weekend and joined her for Sunday brunch. Transition adjustment appears to be progressing very well.

Met with Gloria to review dining preferences and any nutritional considerations. She reports a preference for lighter lunches and enjoys Mexican cuisine. She noted she is lactose-sensitive and prefers to avoid heavy cream-based sauces. Updated her dining profile accordingly. She was pleased to learn our chef accommodates substitution requests. Gloria has been dining in the main restaurant most evenings and said she enjoys the atmosphere. Will follow up in 30 days to ensure preferences are being met.

Gloria settled in nicely during her first week. Stopped by her apartment to check in — she was in good spirits and expressed that she feels comfortable in her new space. She mentioned missing her garden but was delighted to hear about our container gardening club meeting next month. Gloria's daughter called the front desk to confirm Gloria had everything she needed. Encouraged Gloria to join us for Friday happy hour to begin meeting neighbors. She seemed genuinely interested.
